Design for Additive Manufacturing
The explosion of 3D printing is changing how we think about design and manufacturing. Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) is a course that teaches designers and engineers how to take advantage of new 3D printing technologies and think differently about how they design to create models that were once not possible with traditional manufacturing methods. In this 2-day class, you will learn:

- How 3D printing can help reduce assembly complexity via part consolidation
- Structural analysis with topology optimization to create the strongest and optimal shape that can only be produced with 3D printing

Introduction to SOLIDWORKS Simulation
TriMech offers many advanced simulation courses, but in our Introduction to SOLIDWORKS Simulation course, we get back to basics. Upon completion, you will be better able to predict the structural performance of parts and assemblies when they are loaded under various conditions and have confidence in the accuracy of your analysis. In this half-day course, you will gain a better understanding of:
- The principles and theory behind finite element analysis (FEA)
- How to set up and run a linear-static analysis of parts and assemblies
- Post-processing and interpretation of your results to ensure accuracy
Introduction to SOLIDWORKS Simulation is a course for the designer or engineer that has little to no experience with structural FEA or for the experienced Simulation user who wants a quick refresher on fundamentals.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing or (GD&T) is a universal design and manufacturing approach that leverages a symbolic language to better communicate design tolerances, form, fit and functional requirements. By applying GD&T to your 2D drawings or 3D models with Model-Based Definition (MBD), you will reduce the number of rejected or scrap parts, ensure parts fit correctly so that production doesn’t slow and add consistency to how you communicate design intent to ensure accuracy.
TriMech’s introductory GD&T course will teach you the fundamentals of the GD&T language and how you and your company can benefit from incorporating this approach to part definition into your process. In our half-day GD&T Introductory course, you will learn:
- Why GD&T is important
- What each symbol means (positional tolerance, circularity, MMC for example), when and where to use them
- How to calculate tolerance stacks and bonus tolerance

SOLIDWORKS CAD Admin

The SOLIDWORKS CAD Administration course covers the basics of CAD administration in a SOLIDWORKS and PDM environment as well as solutions to installation deployment for large groups of users.
