3DEXPERIENCE Enables Faster Collaboration for Eviation Aircraft

    November 14, 2019

This week's Product Story showcases Eviation Aircraft and their use of 3DEXPERIENCE for faster collaboration in the Cloud.

Eviation Aircraft uses 3DEXPERIENCE through the Cloud to create the world's first all-electric regional commuter aircraft Aviation Alice. Aviation Alice is a plane that holds nine passengers and crew, can travel up to 1000 kilometers per charge, has an all-electric battery and is capable of speeds around 450 kilometers an hour and 40 knots at 10,000 feet. Since they are new to the aviation industry, they wanted to differentiate themselves by by using a holistic approach to development. This was built from the ground up to the electric aircraft.

Using Simulia Structural Simulation Engineer to Run a Snap Fit Analysis

    July 8, 2019

SOLIDWORKS Simulation is one of the leading design analysis tools that brings the power of simulation into the SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD environment, to conduct design validation early in the design process. Ease of use and tight integration within CAD enables designers and engineers to run different types of simulation from linear static to nonlinear static to dynamic analyses. However, even with its extensive capabilities, there are situations where SOLIDWORKS Simulation needs a little extra help. In this blog post, we’ll take a look at one of these situations, running a snap fit analysis and will walk through assisting SOLIDWORKS Simulation with Simulia Structural Simulation Engineer (SSE).

    Introduction to SOLIDWORKS xShape

    June 17, 2019

Over the years, I’ve dabbled in many surface editors. I have spent too many hours creating human faces, cars and other complex geometries only to have the most extravagant shapes not make the jump to hyperspace from surfaces to solids willingly. Perhaps, you know from experience, the let-down in creating something with surfaces that looks great in CAD, only to fumble into getting in a solid form so it can be 3D printed.

3 Ways to Outsource Your Prototype

    June 14, 2019

Congratulations, you just finished designing your CAD model! Now, what's the next step? Prototyping! It's the next phase in the design cycle that helps you mitigate and reduce errors and issues. Prototyping allows you to test your model for functionality and design features. It has become more affordable and accessible as this trend continues at a non-linear rate. This phase decreases the time to market and increases productivity. Newer enhancements offer a more functional prototype and ability to rapid manufacture. Let’s review several things that you can leverage today to help make your prototypes in an efficient and affordable way.
