Wondering what the difference is, or how SOLIDWORKS and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform work together when it comes to 3D printing? In this article, we’ll be sending a part file from SOLIDWORKS to the 3D printer and using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to collaborate and communicate with team members to bring the entire process to a full circle.

The Buckle Group Assembly is a project that our team is working on, and we are collaborating on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to get the job done. The team has gone through an internal discussion on the platform that turned into a poll to see whether there's a need to go ahead and run a few simulations on the buckle and clip. By accessing the 3DEXPERIENCE through a web browser, I can constantly communicate and collaborate with the team using Communities. Check out this blog on how to improve project communication in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The poll is complete and the ‘ayes’ have it. I'm going to go ahead and upload my design data to the platform and run my simulations. I will be able to look at the results and communicate with my team all within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
3DSculptor is a role in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform that includes xShape, a powerful Sub-D modeling software. With 3DSculptor, users can create organic shapes easily and interact with discrete, parametric modeling tools like SOLIDWORKS and xDesign. 3DSculptor is an immensely powerful asset in the creation of unique and complex consumer product designs.
So you were sent the link to access the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. When you open the first few pages, what are the first things you should do and check out? If you are brand new to the platform, this blog is for you. In this blog, we will walk through how to access introductory videos, as well as how to customize your platform experience to get you up and running.

This next series of blogs about tools available on the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform will focus on SOLIDWORKS Cloud. SOLIDWORKS Cloud is a set of tools that allows us to complete a vast majority of our design work right inside a web browser. There is no need for expensive high-end hardware or CAD workstations. This opens design workstation possibilities to multiple platforms and devices. Mac, PC, Linux, iOS and Android are all now options for an engineering PC. Unlike virtually hosted machines, these are tools designed, built and run as browser-based applications. This eliminates the need for installing applications. You simply open a browser and start to design.
Congratulations, you’ve been invited to join the 3DEXPERIENCE platform! Your unique login grants you secure access to a cloud-based environment designed to help ensure the success of your business by centralizing and managing its files, tools, and people. This blog will explore your top five most used User Interface elements as you move around the platform.

Makers, hobbyists and DIY’ers everywhere are excited about 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS for Makers. Gaining access to cloud-connected Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modeling tools allows you to design, create and share your ideas with others from anywhere. A lot of engineers have hobbies that this tool can greatly enhance at the minimal cost of $99 per year. From deck building to robot competitions, this may just be what you're looking for to up your design game! And if you are a hobbyist that wants to get into CAD professionally, this also gives you a leg-up with the ability to open all standard part files that SOLIDWORKS certification courses require.
