Stratasys Product Launch: New Digital ABS Plus and SR-35

2017 has been a big year for Stratasys with the release of the new F123 Series 3D printers and Nylon 12CF. As if that wasn't enough for the 3D printing community, Stratasys just released two new materials—SR-35 soluble support material and Digital ABS Plus/Digital ABS2 Plus.

Digital ABS Plus

Stratasys added another PolyJet Photopolymer to the already long list. The new Digital ABS Plus material boasts newly improved mechanical performance with 38% more impact strength than the old digital ABS, higher thermal resistance and superior finish with smooth, glossy surfaces. Plus, it also comes in Digital ABS2 Plus, which delivers the best performance for thin, rigid walls.

Supported on the Connex3 printers, Objet1000 Plus and Legacy Connex, these materials can be used for a wide range of applications including funcational prototyping, manufacturing tools, molds, snap-fit parts for high or low temperature, electrical parts and housings. Digital ABS Plus is perfect for enduring high-stress situations such as falls, blows or high pressure, can simulate contact surfaces and make models and prototypes with moving parts.

SR-35 Soluble Support

SR-35 Soluble Support MaterialStratasys also released a new FDM Support material called SR-35, which stems from the QSR (Quick Soluble Release) support materials. It is one of six water-soluble support materials available for the FDM lineup and can be used on the Fortus380mc, Fortus450mc and Fortus900mc machines and with a variety of ABS and ASA materials.

Like the other water-soluble support materials, it has a hands-free removal process for quicker time-to-part. Because of how easy it is to dissolve, SR-35 is great for use-cases including intricate and complex prototypes and models. It drastically shortens the time it takes to get high-quality and good looking 3D printed parts and models.
