Know Your Materials: VeroFlex

By TriMech on December 6, 2018

VeroFlex™ is a PolyJet rigid photopolymer material offering a flexibility ideal for rapid prototyping eye-wear. Get prototypes with full-part realism in a wide range of colors, textures and materials from opaque to transparent, unique to the Stratasys J735 and Stratasys J750 3D Printers.

VeroFlex accurately simulates the look, feel and function of eye-wear, enabling improved performance testing. Eye-wear prototypes produced with VeroFlex can better withstand drop tests, lens-mounting and wear ability tests.

Printing Technology: PolyJet

Stratasys 3D printers powered by PolyJet Photopolymers provide levels of detail and realism in their finished products that exceed other 3D printing technologies. It is the only technology with the ability to both simulate a variety of materials and engineering plastics and combine colors and material into one finished product. Their fine resolution makes complex shapes, intricate details and smooth surfaces possible.

PolyJet 3D Printing works by jetting layers of liquid photopolymer onto a build tray and instantly curing them with UV light. The fine layers build up to create a precise 3D model or prototype. Models are ready to handle right out of the 3D printer, with no post
curing needed.

Helpful Tips and Tricks To Remember

As with any 3D printing material, there are some important things to note when printing with VeroFlex that will help you get the most out of the material:

  • VeroFlex materials can be used on Stratasys J750 printers only. They support High Mix and High Quality printing modes, however, High Speed is not supported.
  • Combinations of VeroFlex and other Vero materials are not supported. When printing with VeroFlex materials, make sure that you load the material cabinet with VeroFlex materials only.
