With the announcement of the new Studio System+, Desktop Metal is bringing additional innovative capabilities to the world’s first office-friendly metal 3D printing solution for rapid prototyping. The three-part system, including printer, debinder and furnace, automates metal 3D printing by integration with Desktop Metal’s cloud-based software to deliver a seamless workflow —from digital file to sintered part.
The new Studio System+ retains all the key features of the original Studio System with new printing capabilities and hardware upgrades like:
Higher Resolution Printing
Smaller parts and fine features with an improved surface finish made possible by a new swappable 250μm printhead with supporting software profiles.
Live Streaming of the Build
The ability to monitor print success is made possible by an in-chamber build plate camera that captures video of the part as it prints — viewable in a web browser.
Debind and Sinter in Bulk
Bottlenecks during the debind and sinter stage are a thing of the past. You can now achieve greater throughput with stackable shelving that increases the parts capacity of the debinder and furnace.
You'll have higher quality parts thanks to a new retort box design that supports thermal uniformity.
The system now features the option to connect to external gas tanks or a house gas line, which reduces the cost of consumables and results in lower cost-per-part.
With Studio Fleet, custom-configurable, modular hardware solutions increase efficiency for low volume production of high-quality metal parts. Built to scale, Studio Fleet can be configured to deliver 5x the throughput of the original three-part system for only twice the capital investment.
